“For the third time in row, Govt. has increased clean energy cess levied on coal, lignite and peat. Green Cess has been increased to Rs. 400 per tonne from Rs. 200 per tonne of mined coal. This would impact the input cost of thermal power producing companies. This increase in cess is going to push many energy intensive industries like aluminium, steel, cement etc. to adopt cleaner energy sources like solar energy.
“In general, it is an all inclusive budget as Govt. has significantly increased allocations in all priority sectors like Agriculture & Irrigation, Social sectors (Education & Health), Digital Literacy, Rural Development and Drinking Water, Infrastructure and energy. This Budget has many provisions to boost the manufacturing sector and create new job opportunities for the youth.” said Mr. Rajiv Kumar, Founder & CEO of SolarHippo.com.
