IIHMR University and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Organized a Training Program

The IIHMR University, Jaipur, has achieved yet another accomplishment by organizing a two day residential training program on Vaccine Economic at Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Bengaluru during 24-25, 2018. The University has been providing training in collaboration with The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and WITS School of Public Health which has developed a series of training workshops to strengthen skills related to economics and financing of national immunization programs to improve the sustainability of vaccine delivery in low and middle-income countries.

This training program has included methods like lecture-cum-discussion, case study analysis, exercise, group work, and experiential learning and designed for professionals who are involved in planning and implementation of immunization programs and projects. The 17 target participants were from government and non-governmental stakeholders engaged with immunization, NITAG members, other policy makers, and academics from two counties, namely Bangladesh and India.

Policy makers in low and middle-income countries regularly apply economic principles to healthcare decision-making. To do this well requires greater expertise in applied health economics.

A team of seasoned Health Economists from IIHMR University and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and University of the Witwatersrand, namely Dr. P.R.
