Karam Industries Initiates Legal Action Against Local Dealers And Sellers For Selling Counterfeit Products

Karam Industries, India’s leading Personal Protective Equipment Manufacturing enterprise has initiated strict legal action against shopkeepers, dealers, manufacturers and distributors in Delhi NCR region for manufacturing and selling its counterfeit safety beltsand has filed a criminal complaint against them under section 63 of Copyright Act, 1957.

The police complaint was lodged by KARAM Industries on 6th May 2019, that the accused were infringing the copyrights of ‘Karam Industries’, including manufacturing and selling fake harnesses under Karam brand.

An employee of Karam Industries saw local sellers/ shopkeepers in Delhi NCR region illegally possessing and selling products under the “brand name of Karam” and accordingly filed the Police complaint. Upon registration of the FIR against the miscreants, the police took an immediate action and conducted a raid on their premises wherein counterfeit products were recovered from the possession of the accused. The police confiscated the entire counterfeit stock and arrested the sellers.

Mr. Sandeep Arora (AVP- Sales & Marketing) of Karam Industries said, “We found local dealers selling fake and counterfeit safety belts and harness of Karam make. Thus, we lodged a complaint against such illegal practices and are happy that the police took immediate action in resolving this issue.”

He further added, “Manufacturing and selling of counterfeit safety products could result in grave loss of human life. Manufacturing, possession or sale of counterfeit products is illegal under law and the company has decided to take stringent action against all such miscreants, without any exceptions. All our customers are requested to only buy genuine Karam products as it is a matter of their own safety and safety of their workforce.
