Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday reached Hyderbad to a rousing welcome amid the slogans of ‘Ram Laxman Jaanki’, ‘Jai bolo Hanuman Ki’ and ‘Yogi-Yogi’, ‘Jai Shri Ram’, ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Matram’.
‘Storming the citadel of AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, UP CM took out a massive road show with all roads and buildings adorned with bhagwa colour banners and posters with people in large numbers showered flowers on Yogi who was aboard an open bus.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister was doing the road show in Jeedimetla of Hyderabad in support of the Bharatiya Janata Party candidates in local bodies (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) elections. The unprecedented welcome to Yogi was significant in the view that the area of road show was in the parliamentary constituency of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen President Owaisi.
The BJP workers and general public was carrying placards with ‘change Hyderabad’ in their hands and the women and children were waving hands atop buildings on the way.
UP CM Yogi embarked on his road show after paying floral homage to Baba Sahab Bhimrao Ambedkar. During his entire road show, CM Yogi reciprocated the welcome by showing victory sign.
It is the first time that the BJP is contesting GHMC polls with such optimism that the experts believe the Congress has slipped to third position after TRS. It is believed that BJP will do well this time and the prospects for the party are further enhanced with the presence of Yogi.
GHMC is spread over 24 assembly constituencies with annual budget of about Rs 5500 crore.
