The capital city of Odisha state has been going smarter further after it topped the list of smart cities of the government of India, as the much awaited UberAuto services stared here. The service from Uber was started in Bhubaneswar on the occasion of Utkal Divas on April 1, the day on which the state was formed.
It was a big moment for the company as well as natives of the capital. As per sources the company is likely to charge around Rs. 15 base fare at Rs. 3/km plus Re. 1/minute. This service would be affordable as it would cost around Rs 50 for a ride between Nayapalli to BMC Mall in Bhubaneswar.
The auto associations are likely to oppose the move by the car renting company. They businesses seem to be hurt due to introduction of city buses by DTS in the capital city initially and expandin
g to Cuttack and Puri in due course of time.
UberAuto in Bhubaneswar is likely to give tough competition to local autos business. However, people of the capital city have expressed happiness over the launch of affordable auto service by a company like Uber, which has been into a car renting industry.
