Mr. Sanjay Bhatia, Cofounder & CEO, Freightwalla
Pandemic has severely impacted world trade, and India has been a major victim of this uphill climb since the first lockdown. With long-lasting implications of the pandemic expected to continue, there is a pressing need for businesses to build long-term resilience while reviving the trade economy. The supply-chain industry if technologically equipped can act as a nerve centre, empowering businesses to make decisions based on real-time data. The initiative by the Indian government to institutionalise a 24-hour “helpline” for assistance to exporters and resolution of issues is a very welcome move as it will enable supply chain leaders to anticipate potential disruption, speed up escalation and develop a quick response. By taking the right decisions on a timely basis, the supply chain ecosystem can in turn empower businesses to analyse and configure operations quickly, thereby mitigating risks and optimising results.
