Bengaluru, June 9: Prakriya Hospitals inaugurated the Prakriya Institute of Liver & Gastroenterology, strengthening its commitment to advanced, patient-centric digestive and liver care for the community.
The new institute has been envisioned as a comprehensive centre offering end-to-end care for patients with liver, gastrointestinal and HPB (hepato‑pancreato‑biliary) conditions, from early diagnosis to complex surgical interventions and long-term follow‑up. It brings together a multidisciplinary team of specialists, advanced endoscopy and imaging, and minimally invasive surgical capabilities to address routine as well as high‑risk cases under one roof.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr Srinivas Chirukuri, CEO & Director, Prakriya Hospitals, said the launch of the Prakriya Institute of Liver & Gastroenterology marks a key milestone in the hospital’s journey towards offering focused, organ‑specific centres of excellence. He emphasized that the institute is designed to integrate expert clinical talent, evidence‑based protocols and cutting‑edge technology so that patients with complex liver and digestive diseases can access specialized care without having to travel outside the city or state.
Highlighting the clinical depth of the new institute, Dr Raje Gowda A S, senior consultant for multi‑organ transplant and HPB surgery at Prakriya Hospitals, noted that the centre is equipped to manage a wide spectrum of conditions, including advanced liver cirrhosis, biliary tract diseases and liver tumors requiring sophisticated interventions. He added that a strong focus on minimally invasive HPB and transplant-related surgeries, supported by robust peri‑operative care and critical care back‑up, will help improve outcomes and quality of life for patients with complex hepatic and pancreatic disorders.
The inauguration also showcased the hospital’s philosophy of “Nurturing Life”, with the leadership reiterating its focus on combining technology with compassionate healing. The institute is expected to function as a regional referral hub for liver and gastroenterology cases, working closely with referring physicians and smaller hospitals, while continuing to educate the community on prevention, early detection and timely intervention for digestive and liver diseases.
