Bengaluru 26th September 2022. There are a million ways to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi. But this one would have caught his eye. It is surely going to catch the attention of all bike enthusiasts.
Get ready to welcome the Peace Carnival, a joint initiative of the World Peace Museum Trust & Breathe Entertainment, hosted by Magnifique Public School Kanakapura Road to commemorate the 153rd birth anniversary of the Mahatma.
You can take part in the Peace Carnival by walking, sprinting, cycling, painting, singing, drumming, or just take time out to contemplate on Gandhiji and his legacy of peace.
You can contribute to this Culture of Peace by giving your time, resources and skills, and it is open to all – individuals, corporate, NGOs, organizations in government sector, schools, colleges and the general public.
Presented by the upcoming World Peace Museum, at Magnifique School, Kanakapura Road, and scheduled for Oct 2, the event will see bikers and cyclists pedal 20 km, commencing from Lalbagh Main Entrance Double Road, at 8.30 am and onwards taking a detour around the city, and culminating at Magnifique Public School, opposite Art of Living Centre, Kanakapura Road.
John Devaraj, renowned sculptor, and founder-director of World Peace Museum, said the culture of peace call aimed to empower children and youth to strengthen harmony in society and develop a sense of respect for all life on earth.
The World Peace Museum connects the museums of the world and recalls the bloody history of war and violence the world over, showcasing the efforts and endeavours of peace makers including artists, writers, singers, dancers, musicians, photographers, journalists and film-makers, said Dr Rita Mahajan, spiritual coach & healer, describing it as a unique peace movement of, by and for all.
Kishore Joseph, Director, Breathe Entertainment said taking part in the peace carnival was an attempt to be the change we want to bring about, and heed the call given by Mahatma Gandhi.
In the run up to the event unique and specially designed cycles will ride across the city spreading the message of peace and also drumming up support for building the proposed World Peace Museum.
To add an extra dose of excitement to the event on that day, cyclists and bikers will witness Music for Peace by School Children accompanied by Peace Drums Circle; curated by Drum Events India.
Biju Nair, Cluster COO, BGS Gleneagles Global Hospital who are the health partners for the event, said they would use this initiative to spread awareness about their various CSR initiatives and also bust many myths and fears about Breast Cancer.
The Peace Carnival is supported by She for Society, the first ever NGO formed by women bikers to honour and support martyred soldiers’ families. Due to their collaboration, over 200 women bikers are expected to be part of the event.
Other partner events are Prachar Media, Seva Café, icycle In, among others.
Moinuddin US, Educationist & Environmentalist, Kishore Joseph, and Dr B N Satyanarayana, Scientist Emeritus & Former Dean GKVK also are part of the core team of the Worlds Peace Museum.
