Women are more beautiful together than individuals: Suparna Mitra

Hyderabad, July 5, 2024…., Are watches competing with mobile phones? Are cell phones making watches obsolete? Ms. Suparna Mitra, CEO of Titan Watches & Wearable Devices says a big NO.

She was in conversation with Priya Gazdar, Chairperson, FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), Hyderabad Chapter at a session the TATA Legacy —Living Values at T-Hub at Raidurg on Thursday evening.

There is no doubt the functionalities of each other of these two gadgets/devices interchanging. And there are multiple similarities between them, hence this question arises. It is not new and it has been going around for several years, the 54 years old CEO of Titan told the packed house of Pinnacle Amphitheatre in T-Hub

There is no comparision. Watches are bought for different reasons such as — status symbol, gifting(for anniversaries, milestone achievements, 40 to 50% sales happen for this reason), accessorising, and means of self-expression– who you are. Your watch tells a story about who you are. None of these are possible by mobile phone said Suparna Mitra.

Ms. Suparna Mitra, CEO, of Watches & Wearable Division, Titan Co. Ltd. was the guest speaker at the FLO

The CEO of Titan delved into the core values, challenges during the covid, her leadership skills, strategies behind brands and operational mantras, that have guided the Tata Group to become India’s pride and a globally respected powerhouse. And of course, her journey to the helm of Titan Co. Ltd., a gem of this wonderful conglomerate.

Titan is a people-centric company. If I say it is people-oriented, how can it simultaneously be performance-oriented? you may ask. If you take care of the people, people will take care of the company she said.

We are in the business of fashion and lifestyle. Indian women made many of our brands successful. While speaking about women’s role in making Titanic the most trusted brand, the CEO said women are more beautiful together than an individual

Watches were the worst hit category during the pandemic as they’re the most non-essential items, she shared.

Besides being a CEO of TitanWatches, she is currently serving on the Board of Governors of IIM Kozhikode and has previously served on the board of Tata Power Solar. She is also an Independent Director of the Board of Swiggy.
