U-21 Coach Tim White Praises India’s Rising Women’s Hockey Talent Pool

Bhopal, May 19: Indian junior women’s hockey team head coach Tim White has highlighted the depth of emerging talent in India’s age-group hockey structure after attending the ongoing India–Australia U-18 exposure series in Bhopal.

White, who recently took charge of the U-21 national setup in Bengaluru, said the U-18 level forms a crucial part of the country’s talent pipeline and plays a key role in building future senior national teams.

Expressing his observations from the tournament, White said he was keen to assess the U-18 group closely and strengthen coordination between different levels of the national programme.

“I was incredibly curious to come to Bhopal and evaluate the U-18 group because this is our direct talent pipeline,” White said, adding that his interactions with former captain Rani Rampal and the coaching staff had been highly encouraging.

He praised the ongoing efforts in developing young players and noted that the integration between youth and senior levels is vital for sustained success in Indian women’s hockey.
