A Game-Changer for Odisha’s Global Ties

Speaking at the launch event, CM Mohan Charan Majhi said,

The event was attended by senior government officials, IndiGo executives, and airport authorities, with inaugural passengers greeted with traditional Odia hospitality.

For years, international travelers from Odisha had to rely on connecting flights via major metros. The new flight from Bhubaneswar to Abu Dhabi is a welcome solution—saving time and offering direct access to one of the most important international hubs in the Gulf region.

Opportunities Beyond the Skies

The Bhubaneswar to Abu Dhabi flight is not just a logistical upgrade—it’s a strategic move to elevate Odisha’s presence on the global map. With Abu Dhabi offering excellent connectivity to Europe, Africa, and North America, this route has the potential to significantly boost business, tourism, and educational exchange.

Industries such as textiles, handicrafts, seafood, and IT services are expected to benefit from faster export and travel opportunities. Additionally, the state’s renowned tourist destinations—like Konark, Puri, and Chilika Lake—stand to attract more international visitors.

Tourism and aviation officials have already hinted at plans to expand BBIA’s international route network in the near future.

A New Chapter in Odisha’s Aviation Story

The successful launch of the flight from Bhubaneswar to Abu Dhabi signals Odisha’s emergence as a globally connected region. With IndiGo’s thrice-weekly service, the skies are now truly open for Odisha, offering not just air travel—but access to global possibilities.
