
Kochi, October 13, 2025: Aster Medcity’s Aster International Institute of Oncology celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the grand launch of its long-running initiative, Sakhi 4.0. The event, which featured the inauguration of a one-of-a-kind campaign vehicle, the ‘Pink Vandy,’ and an exclusive Mega Zumbathon, was aimed at strongly advocating for the importance of breast self-examination. Popular Music Director Kailas Menon and Dr. Shuhaib Kader, Chief Operating Officer, Aster Medcity, launched the 4th edition of Sakhi.
‘Pink Vandy,’ a distinctive vehicle covered with mirrors. The mirrors symbolize self-introspection, delivering the central message: When you see the mirrors, it shows you, and it is the strongest message one can give ourselves, a direct call to action for regular self-checking.
The ‘Pink Vandy’ will serve as a mobile educational unit, actively traveling to various locations, including Kudumbasree units, IT parks, colleges, residential associations, and clubs, to conduct educational sessions on the importance of breast cancer screening and self-checking. The Pink Vandy was flagged off by Kailas Menon in the presence of the doctors at Aster International Institute of Oncology.
The spirited, females-only Mega Zumbathon witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 250 ladies from the hospital community and various colleges such as Skillversity Job Campus, IBIS Educational Institution, St. Albert’s College and Rajagiri College, Kalamassery.
