Livspace elevates seasoned business leader Sonal Tayal to take on HR leadership role

Livspace elevates seasoned business leader Sonal Tayal to take on HR leadership role Mumbai, Dec 02nd: Livspace, India’s leading home interiors and renovation platform, has elevated Sonal Tayal to Head of Human Resources, recognising her decade-long contribution to the company. In her new role, Sonal will spearhead the company’s people agenda, focusing on building a high-performance culture, nurturing talent and supporting Livspace’s continued growth across markets.

Sonal has been part of Livspace’s evolution from an early-stage company to a category leader. She has held leadership roles across design, sales, operations, strategy and workforce development. Most recently, she led Supply Sourcing & Development, where she built and scaled a high-quality workforce of design and project professionals, drove learning and development, and strengthened the partner ecosystem. Prior to this, she was instrumental in leading platform growth and strategy, sales operations and Livspace’s Delhi-NCR business.

Before joining Livspace, Sonal’s career spanned roles at Godrej Interio, Meinhardt Group, Zeppelin Design & Environments, and Omaxe Limited, giving her a uniquely integrated perspective across design, engineering, interiors, and real estate—capabilities that now underpin her people-centric leadership at Livspace.

Commenting on the appointment, Ramakant Sharma, founder and CEO of Livspace said, “In a people intensive industry like ours, our people and the business need to move together. Sonal understands this because she has lived the business end-to-end. She started her Livspace journey by establishing the Delhi-NCR business and built her career by moving across functions, solving problems and shaping how we scale. Her ability to build systems, develop talent and strengthen our delivery engine has had a direct impact on our growth across markets. As we enter our next phase of expansion, Sonal is well placed to further bring together our business ambition and a strong people-first approach. I am confident she will help us develop capable, motivated teams that support Livspace’s goals for the coming years.”

On her elevation, Sonal said, “Over the last decade, Livspace has given me the opportunity to work across multiple functions, understand the business deeply and contribute in ways that go beyond any single role. This move feels natural because HR and business have to work as one in a people intensive industry. Taking on this role is both a responsibility and an opportunity to strengthen the culture that supports our growth. My focus will be on building teams that are skilled, motivated and aligned with our ambition for the next phase of the company. I look forward to working with leaders and partners to drive talent development and create a system where people can do their best at work.”

An alumna of the Indian School of Business (ISB), Sonal is passionate about solving complex challenges, building agile teams and driving outcomes with strong ownership and execution.
