Hulladek Educates 10,000 Individuals Of Safe Recycling Practices For Electronic Waste

Kolkata,Feb 16: Hulladek Recycling Pvt. Ltd, an e-waste management company has completed over 500 E-Waste Awareness Sessions in collaboration with Godrej Appliances In FY 25-26 Across India, reaching out to 10,000 individuals from schools, colleges, NGOs, RWAs, corporates and industrial areas. Operating pan-India since 2015, the company provides end-to-end e-waste management services focused on responsible recycling and environmental compliance.

Technology has become inseparable from the younger generation – from online learning and digital payments to content creation and social networking. Platforms like Apple and Samsung launch new devices every year, and young consumers are often the first adopters.

But this fast upgrade culture also means gadgets are replaced quicker than ever. The result? A rapidly growing stream of e-waste that often ends up improperly disposed. If technology defines the future of youth, responsible e-waste management must define their values – because true innovation is not just about creating new devices, but also about sustainably managing the old ones.

The main challenge with electronic waste is the lack of awareness of proper disposal methods. India is the third largest generator of electronic and electrical waste, unfortunately only 5% of this is recycled by authorized recyclers. To bridge this gap, we conduct awareness sessions on electronic waste management to educate the masses on the right disposal techniques. Over the last 1 year, we have conducted these programs in institutions such as Sushila Birla Girls High School, Calcutta International School, St. Xavier’s College, B.D.Memorial School, J.D Birla Institute, Loreto Convent School, Brainware University, Adamas University, Desun Hospital and many more.

“Awareness is key to bring about any change in the society. Interactive awareness workshops help in educating the masses especially children on the right disposal techniques. Partnering with Hulladek for e-waste management reflects our commitment to responsible disposal, environmental sustainability, and a greener future for our community”, said Dr Suman Sood, Director & Principal B.D. Memorial Jr. School.

“Over the years, we have seen that increased awareness programs have led to increase in disposal of electronic and electrical waste. We have collected almost 100MT of e-waste from households. “Awareness programs are the first step toward transforming behaviour — when people understand e-waste, they begin to act responsibly. Only an informed society can turn today’s digital consumption into tomorrow’s sustainable solutions. At Hulladek, awareness has always been at the heart of our mission. We believe collection drives create impact, but education creates lasting change – and that is where true sustainability begins”, said Ms Priyasha Singhania, Executive Vice President, Branding & Communcation, Hulladek Recycling.

The company’s commitment to sustainable practices, stringent environmental regulations, and responsible recycling has made it a trusted partner for businesses and individuals seeking ethical and eco-friendly waste management solutions.
