Hyderabad, Mar 09: Marking the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Nest Fetal Medicine Center was formally inaugurated today at Westend Mall, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. The center headed by its Director, Dr. Amitha Indersen, aims to provide specialized and comprehensive fetal care, focusing on the health and well-being of the unborn child through advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Dr. Amitha, an accomplished fetal medicine specialist with extensive training and international exposure promises a growing awareness about the importance of specialized fetal healthcare and the need for trained experts to manage high-risk pregnancies.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Coal and Mines and Member of Parliament from Secunderabad, who attended as the Chief Guest. The event also saw participation from medical professionals, healthcare experts, and members of the community who gathered to celebrate the launch of a dedicated facility for fetal medicine in the city.
Speaking at the event, Shri G. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Amitha Indersen shared the vision behind establishing the center. “Fetal medicine focuses on the unborn child as a patient and plays a critical role in detecting and managing complications during pregnancy. With Nest Fetal Medicine Center, our goal is to bring advanced fetal diagnostics, screening protocols, counselling, and therapeutic interventions under one roof so that families in Hyderabad have access to world-class fetal care,” she said.
Fetal medicine is an evolving medical specialty that focuses on early detection and management of fetal anomalies, genetic conditions, and growth problems during pregnancy. With the help of advanced imaging and diagnostic technologies, trained specialists can identify potential complications early and, in some cases, perform lifesaving interventions before birth.
At Nest Fetal Medicine Center, Dr. Indersen and her team offer a wide range of services including fetal anomaly scans, fetal echocardiography, fetal neurosonography, Doppler assessments, 3D and 4D imaging, and genetic counselling.
