AVPL International Establishes Drone Centre of Excellence at Government ITI Govandi, Mumbai in Collaboration with TSSC

Mumbai, Mar 23: AVPL International has announced the establishment of a Drone Centre of Excellence (CoE) at Government ITI Govandi, in collaboration with the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC). The initiative aims to strengthen hands-on training and build industry-ready skills in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technologies.

The Centre of Excellence is designed to deliver structured, practical training in drone operations and real-world applications, enabling students to gain the expertise required to participate in India’s rapidly growing drone ecosystem.

The facility features four specialized drone categories, offering students hands-on exposure across multiple industry use cases. These include 10-litre agricultural drones for precision farming, surveillance drones for security operations, payload delivery drones supporting logistics innovation, and search-and-rescue drones for disaster response scenarios.

Dr. Preet Sandhu, Founder and Managing Director of AVPL International, said,

“India’s drone ecosystem will grow only when students gain hands-on exposure to real technologies and applications. Establishing this Centre of Excellence is part of our mission to make advanced drone training accessible within the technical education ecosystem. By introducing students to diverse use cases—from agriculture to disaster management—we aim to build a skilled workforce ready to support the expanding UAV industry.”

Through guided modules and practical training, the CoE will provide real-world insights into precision agriculture, security surveillance, logistics operations, and emergency response technologies—effectively bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry deployment.

The facility has already received appreciation from senior representatives of Ericsson and TSSC during their visit, who recognized its potential as a scalable model for drone skilling infrastructure across technical institutions in India.

By embedding advanced training facilities within technical institutes, AVPL International continues to play a pivotal role in strengthening India’s drone skilling ecosystem and preparing students for emerging opportunities in UAV technology.
