Kerala Launches Statewide Dental Network for Early Oral Cancer Detection

Thiruvananthapuram, May 20: Kerala has launched a statewide dental health network aimed at improving early detection of oral cancer through routine screening and coordinated care across public health facilities.

Under the initiative, dental professionals in government hospitals and clinics will work in a connected system to identify early signs of oral cancer, ensure timely diagnosis, and refer patients for further treatment.

Health officials said the programme is designed to strengthen preventive care, especially for high-risk groups, by making screenings more accessible at the community level.

The initiative is expected to improve early intervention rates and reduce delays in diagnosis, ultimately enhancing treatment outcomes across the state.
