New Delhi, May 21: India’s tea exports witnessed a significant jump in FY26, recording a growth of 93% and reaching Rs 8,719 crore, according to official data cited by Union Minister.

Welcoming the development, the minister said the sharp rise highlights growing international demand for Indian tea and reflects the strengthening global appeal of the country’s agricultural and value-added exports.

Officials noted that the surge in exports underscores improved market access, better global positioning of Indian tea, and increasing preference for Indian varieties in key international markets.

The government said it continues to focus on boosting agricultural exports through policy support, quality enhancement, and efforts to expand India’s presence in global markets.

The strong performance in tea exports is being seen as a positive indicator for India’s farm and plantation sector, with expectations of sustained growth in the coming years.
