PM Modi Meets Nepal RSP Chief Rabi Lamichhane, Signals Stronger India–Nepal Cooperation

June 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Rabi Lamichhane, the chief of Nepal’s ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), and expressed optimism about strengthening bilateral cooperation between India and Nepal.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed avenues to deepen engagement across key areas of mutual interest, including connectivity, trade, people-to-people ties, and regional development initiatives.

Prime Minister Modi said India looks forward to closer cooperation with Nepal in the coming years, underlining the importance of strong democratic and developmental partnerships between the two neighbouring countries.

The discussion also reflected shared priorities in enhancing cross-border connectivity and expanding economic collaboration, while maintaining the long-standing cultural and civilisational ties that bind the two nations.

Rabi Lamichhane appreciated India’s continued engagement with Nepal and highlighted the importance of sustained dialogue between political leaderships to further strengthen bilateral relations.
