New Delhi, June 12: India’s Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) sector is poised for sustained long-term growth, supported by a strong push towards localisation and increasing focus on value-added manufacturing, according to a recent industry report.
The report highlights that policy support, supply chain diversification, and rising domestic demand are collectively strengthening India’s position as an emerging global electronics manufacturing hub.
It notes that global companies are increasingly exploring India as a preferred destination for electronics production, driven by geopolitical realignment, cost competitiveness, and improving manufacturing infrastructure.
The EMS ecosystem is also benefiting from India’s growing capabilities in component assembly, system integration, and high-value electronics production, with companies gradually moving up the value chain.
Industry observers say that localisation initiatives are reducing import dependence while boosting domestic manufacturing capacity, creating new opportunities for employment and investment across the sector.
The report further states that continued focus on infrastructure development, skill enhancement, and policy incentives will be critical in sustaining momentum and expanding India’s EMS footprint globally.
Analysts expect the sector to play a key role in India’s broader manufacturing growth story over the coming years.
