New Delhi, Aug 10: India’s furniture and interiors industry is entering a high-growth phase, powered by expanding domestic demand, formalised manufacturing and a stronger appetite for design-led products. The India furniture market, estimated at USD 31.51 billion in 2026, is forecast to reach USD 45.52 billion by 2031, growing at a CAGR of 7.63percentage. As this opportunity expands, the inaugural edition of imm india 2026 will bring manufacturers, exporters, designers, retailers, hospitality buyers and real estate developers onto one platform, connecting globally competitive Indian manufacturing with domestic and international demand.
Organised by Koelnmesse, the organiser behind imm cologne, one of the world’s furniture trade fairs, imm india 2026 will take place from 1 to 3 September 2026 at Yashobhoomi, IICC Dwarka, New Delhi. The integrated B2B sourcing platform will span furniture, home décor, rugs and carpets, mattresses, surfaces, kitchen solutions and handcrafted collections, creating a focused marketplace for sourcing, customised manufacturing and long-term business partnerships.
Speaking on the platform’s growing relevance, Mr Milind Dixit, Managing Director, Koelnmesse Private Limited, said,
“imm india 2026 is not just another exhibition. It is a bold statement of India’s readiness to lead the global furniture and interiors conversation. Our vision is to create a marketplace where Indian manufacturers connect seamlessly with global demand, where design meets business and where long-term partnerships are built.”
The show floor will feature more than 100 confirmed exhibitors, including export-ready manufacturers from major production centres such as Jodhpur, Moradabad, Karur and Saharanpur. Confirmed participants include Source, Sunrise International, Sheela Foam Limited, Obeetee Private Limited, Phoenix Industries Limited, Royal Rugs, Khivraj Handicrafts, Sankara Furniture Designs, Metaltech Design, Saraf Exports, Tapisserie Home, The Furniture Folks and Mahesh Handicrafts, among others. Their participation will give buyers direct access to manufacturing expertise, new collections and specification-led solutions across the furniture and interiors value chain.
The opportunity extends beyond factory-produced furniture into India’s deep craft and design economy. The Indian handicrafts market is projected to reach USD 8.29 billion by 2034 at a CAGR of 6.13%. Rising demand for sustainable handmade products and the growing integration of traditional craftsmanship with contemporary furniture and interior design are creating new commercial opportunities for manufacturers, artisans, designers and exporters. This convergence will be reflected across imm india’s furniture, rugs, décor and handcrafted product categories.
For domestic buyers, the platform will provide direct access to export-quality products, materials and manufacturers at source. Architects and interior designers will be able to experience materials and discuss customised specifications, while retailers and distributors can discover new collections before they reach the wider market. HoReCa professionals and real estate developers will also be able to engage manufacturers directly for project-scale procurement and design-specific requirements.
India’s export performance adds further momentum to the platform. Exports classified as handicrafts excluding handmade carpets reached ₹15,855 crore in FY 2025–26, while carpet exports stood at ₹12,887 crore. Handicrafts excluding handmade carpets also registered 8.51% year-on-year export growth in March 2026, reinforcing the international demand for India’s craft-based and value-added products.
The trade environment has become more favourable with the India United Kingdom Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement entering into force on 15 July 2026. The agreement provides zero-duty access for nearly 99% of India’s exports to the United Kingdom, creating stronger opportunities for export-oriented manufacturers and craft-led enterprises. This access, combined with the industry’s established design and manufacturing capabilities, strengthens India’s position as an international sourcing destination.
Extending this opportunity to the show floor, imm india 2026 will host a structured International Hosted Buyer Programme, featuring confirmed trade delegations from the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, Oman, Mexico, Egypt, Israel, Romania, the United Arab Emirates and other key markets. The programme will provide Indian exhibitors with direct access to qualified international buyers and create focused opportunities for sourcing discussions and export partnerships.
Mr C P Sharma, President, Handloom Handicraft Exporters Welfare Association, said,
“HHEWA is pleased to partner with imm india to create new business and export opportunities for India’s handicraft and home décor exporters. Together, HHEWA and imm india are committed to supporting the growth, visibility and global competitiveness of Indian exporters.”
Mr Bharat Dinesh, President, Jodhpur Handicrafts Exporters Association, said,
“imm india marks a defining step for India’s furniture and interiors industry. It gives our members and the wider ecosystem a focused global platform to showcase Indian design, connect with serious buyers and build partnerships that strengthen India’s position in global trade.”
The event is backed by a broad coalition of organisations representing furniture manufacturers, handicraft exporters, buying agents and production clusters. Supporting associations include the Jodhpur Handicrafts Exporters Association, AMK, Handloom Handicraft Exporters Welfare Association, Buying Agents Association and Association of Furniture Manufacturers of India as Exclusive Partner. The platform is further supported by The Handicrafts Exporters Association Moradabad, Bagru Industrial Association, AACC, IETO, ICC, Kirti Nagar Timber and Furniture Dealers Association and KHEXMASS. Their participation strengthens imm india as a representative platform for India’s furniture, handicrafts and interiors ecosystem.
Beyond sourcing, imm india 2026 will host conferences and knowledge sessions curated with the architecture and interior design community. The programme will bring together manufacturers, designers, buyers and industry leaders to examine developments shaping design, manufacturing, sourcing and market access. The imm india Excellence Awards will recognise innovation, sustainability, craftsmanship and design excellence across Indian manufacturing.
India has the manufacturing capacity, design intelligence and craftsmanship required to serve both domestic and global markets. imm india 2026 will bring these strengths into one focused marketplace, giving buyers access to products and manufacturers while enabling Indian enterprises to build new sourcing, distribution and export relationships. From 1 to 3 September 2026, Yashobhoomi will become the meeting point for the businesses and ideas shaping the next phase of India’s furniture and interiors industry.
