Chandigarh, May 21 : Ambuja Cements, the cement and building materials company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, is encouraging simple and sustainable health practices in Mehma Sawai village of Bathinda through its non-communicable disease (NCD) prevention programme as part of its CSR initiative.
With the support of trained health volunteers and awareness sessions at local nutrition centres, community members began adopting walking as a daily wellness habit. Women walked together to the Gurudwara, men formed informal circuits, and children joined in. The shift was gradual but steady, with participants reporting higher energy, reduced sugar intake and improved mental wellbeing.
This initiative highlights how low cost, community-led routines can lead to lasting health outcomes. By making physical activity a shared village practice, Ambuja Cements is empowering rural families to take ownership of their health, one step at a time.
