NGO AROH Foundation was awarded the prestigious 3rd Innovative Practices Awards 2019 for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for its extraordinary contribution towards the social causes under its Holistic Rural Development Programme. The Award was presented to Dr Neelam Gupta, Founder & CEO, AROH Foundation at the United Nations Global Compact Network India 14th National Convention on 31st May, 2019 in Mumbai.
Mr Renata Dessallien, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative & Bibek Debroy, an Indian economist and author along with other eminent members conferred the award to Dr Gupta.
On the occasion, Dr Gupta said, “Achieving the SDGs is no more a matter of choice but is imperative for all if we want our nation to progress. In fact, achieving SDGs is critical to our survival on the planet. AROH is committed to addressing all 17 SDGs through its various multi-sectoral initiatives and grassroots interventions.”
The Summit also held day-long deliberations and reflections by the thought leaders on the Sustainable Development Goals. Various organizations across India including Public and Private Sector Enterprises, Multinationals, MSMEs, NGOs, Entrepreneurs and B-schools were invited to submit case studies showcasing their efforts and initiatives implementing CSR and Sustainability initiative aligned with one or more of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
AROH Foundation is well recognized for its pioneering programmes in sectors of Education, Livelihoods, Health and Sanitation and Renewable Energy. The Foundation is contributing towards rural development and successfully implementing integrated village development programmes in more than 100 villages across multiple states of India.
