Baking a Better Tomorrow: Unox India Launches First CSR Initiative Together with Learn for Life Ahead of World Food Day

Gurgaon, October 16th, 2025: Unox, a leading Italian brand renowned worldwide for its high-performance commercial ovens for the food service, retail, pastry, and bakery sectors, has launched its first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in India in collaboration with Learn for Life, an NGO dedicated to empowering children and youth from low socioeconomic backgrounds through education, skills, and sustainable livelihood programmes.

The initiative, titled “Baking a Better Tomorrow,” began with a workshop on October 14 at the UNOX Experience Centre in Gurgaon, bringing together 30 students from various NGOs across Delhi associated with Learn for Life. The participants were introduced to the world of professional baking using the same cutting-edge technologies from Unox adopted by leading cafés, bakeries, and hotels globally.

Unox India opened its Experience Centre to create a real-world learning environment where participants could gain exposure to modern professional baking equipment from Unox under the mentorship of Unox chefs. The session aimed to build both confidence and employable skills for a future in the rapidly evolving food and hospitality industry.

“On World Food Day, our focus was simple: convert access to equipment into access to opportunity,” said Vikram Goel, Regional Director, Unox India & SEA. “By teaching practical skills on the same technology used by industry professionals, we want to help young people imagine and prepare for careers in modern kitchens.”

The event was honoured by Mr. Davide Colombo, Deputy Head of the Economic and Innovation Department, Embassy of Italy, New Delhi, who attended as Chief Guest.

“It is inspiring to witness an Italian company in India combine innovation and education to empower youth,” said Mr. Colombo. “This initiative reflects how technology and skill development together can create meaningful opportunities for future generations.”

Michael and Nicole, Programme Leads at Learn for Life, shared, “This partnership was not about handouts, but about empowerment. For our participants, this workshop was a chance to learn, to create, and to take their first step towards building sustainable futures in the baking and hospitality industry.”

This workshop marks the beginning of Unox India’s long-term CSR vision — “Baking a Better Tomorrow” — a sustained commitment to nurturing skills, promoting employability, and creating lasting social impact through technology and learning.
