Kolkata, 28th February 2024: As part of their captivating Culture Fridays initiative, the British Council is calling upon all cinema enthusiasts and culture aficionados to embark on the thrilling journey through Victorian London with the movie ‘Enola Holmes’. The special screening is slated for 1st March 2024 at the British Council.
Adapted from Nancy Springer’s Young Adult novel series, “Enola Holmes” follows the adventures of Sherlock’s younger sister as she creates a stir, unravels mysteries, and establishes her unique presence in affluent Victorian England. As Enola navigates a labyrinth of clues, she challenges societal norms and expectations, demonstrating that intelligence and courage transcend gender boundaries. Filled with exhilarating action, clever humour, and a touch of sibling competition, ‘Enola Holmes’ offers a delightful and empowering adventure suitable for audiences of every age. The stellar cast includes Stranger Things fame Millie Bobby Brown as Enola Holmes, Helena Bonham Carter CBE as the mother, and Superman alum Henry Cavill as the dashing Sherlock Holmes.
The screening is free and open to all individuals aged 18 and above. To elevate the cinematic adventure, the British Council has collaborated with Caara café to offer delightful snacks and beverages to the audience. Seating is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
