Ganesh Sankaran Joins Equirus as Vice Chairman

Mumbai, May 02, 2025: Equirus Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Ganesh Sankaran as Vice Chairman & Whole time Director. In this strategic leadership role, Ganesh will work on shaping the firm’s growth trajectory ahead and enhancing its leadership across core businesses.

Ganesh has already been associated with the Equirus Board and has acted as an advisor to the Equirus Group. His appointment reflects the firm’s continued commitment to building a strong leadership team to drive its next phase of growth.

Ganesh will oversee Investment Banking and Institutional Equities and help in expanding sectoral coverage, deepening strategic client engagement, and elevating the firm’s capital markets platform to the next level. As a member of the board, he will also be actively involved in group-wide initiatives to help scale the organization. With an illustrious career spanning over three decades across banking and financial services, Ganesh has demonstrated exceptional vision and leadership in prominent roles at HDFC Bank, Federal Bank, and Axis Bank, to name a few. He has a proven track record of building and scaling businesses and is known for his strategic depth and strong execution capabilities. In addition to his executive experience, he has also gathered board experience across BFSI from his previous association.
