Greece Forms Strategic Tourism Partnership with Emirates Airline

Athens, Greece – May 3, 2025 — Greece’s Ministry of Tourism announced a major strategic tourism partnership with Dubai-based Emirates Airline, marking a significant step forward in boosting the country’s global connectivity and tourism sector. The strategic tourism partnership includes a new codeshare agreement between Emirates and Greece’s flagship carrier, Aegean Airlines.

The strategic tourism partnership aims to enhance travel options for passengers and foster stronger ties between the United Arab Emirates and Greece. It is expected to drive greater tourism flows, increase flight frequency between the two countries, and open new international routes through collaborative marketing and infrastructure support.

As part of the codeshare agreement, travelers flying with Emirates will now have easier access to Aegean Airlines’ extensive European network, while Aegean passengers will be able to seamlessly connect to Emirates’ long-haul destinations via Dubai.

The partnership is expected to have a significant impact on tourism revenues, as Greece continues its post-pandemic recovery and positions itself as a global travel hub in southeastern Europe. The initiative also includes joint promotional campaigns and potential investments in tourism infrastructure, according to media reports.
