Green Practices Launches Sustainable Ganpati Idols Ahead of Festive Season

Mumbai, 25th August 2025: Green Practices, a pioneering sustainability solutions company based out of Mumbai, has launched its annual collection of eco-friendly Ganpati idols for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi season. With a vision to blend tradition with environmental responsibility, the idols offer meaningful, biodegradable alternatives to the long-standing traditional practices in the city of Mumbai.

This year’s collection features three thoughtfully designed idol options that blend tradition with sustainability:

  • Shadu Mati Ganpati – Available in both natural Multani mitti and colour variants, these classic clay idols are entirely biodegradable and made using age-old, eco-sensitive methods.
  • Plantable Mud Ganpati – Each idol in this series is designed for home immersion and can optionally be paired with plantable seeds such as sunflower, tulsi, or coriander, allowing devotees to witness new life grow in place of the immersed idol.
  • Paper Mache Ganpati – Made from recycled paper pulp, these robust idols are ideal for domestic as well as international shipping, catering to environmentally conscious households across the globe.

“Festivals in India are deeply emotional and cultural, especially religious ones like Holi and Ganesh Chaturthi which hold a special place in Mumbai,” said Mana Shah, founder of Green Practices. “With our eco-friendly Ganpati idols, we try to make it easier for devotees to switch to eco-conscious choices. Our aim has always been to make these celebrations more thoughtful and sustainable without losing their beauty or meaning. We’ve been offering eco-friendly Ganpatis since 2010, and we see this moment as a chance to bring sustainable & responsible celebration into the mainstream without compromising on faith or tradition.”

The eco-friendly Ganpati idols are available at Green Practices’ Sion outlet, with additional pickup points across Mumbai to enhance accessibility. To further ease the process for devotees, door-to-door delivery is being offered across Mumbai and Pune. For those residing outside India, the paper mache idols are available for international shipping, enabling global celebrations rooted in conscious, sustainable choices.
