Greenzo Energy secures order from Jindal Stainless Limited to set up Green Hydrogen Electrolyser Plant in Odisha

New Delhi, September 1st, 2025: Greenzo Energy India Limited has received a prestigious order from Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL), India’s largest stainless-steel manufacturer, for the supply, erection, installation, and commissioning of an advanced electrolyser-based green hydrogen plant at JSL’s Kalinga Nagar Industrial Complex in Jajpur, Odisha.

The project will be executed with a designed capacity of 472409 kg/yr, along with complete balance of plant (BoP) systems, erection, installation, and commissioning. Delivery is scheduled within six months of contract signing, with commissioning. The plant will initially produce 5,256,000 Nm³/year of green hydrogen (approx. 0.47 KTPA) and is designed for scalability up to 1.5 KTPA. The green hydrogen will be used in critical stainless steel production processes, namely the Bright Annealing Line and Bell Furnace, enabling Jindal Stainless to transition to green steel and significantly reduce its carbon footprint.

In addition to the technology supply, Greenzo will provide comprehensive training and operational support, including 30 days of on-site training for JSL’s technical team and 11 months of virtual guidance, ensuring seamless plant integration and long-term operational efficiency.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Sandeep Agarwal, Managing Director, Greenzo Energy India Limited, said: “The trust shown by Jindal Stainless further reinforces Greenzo’s position as a leading homegrown hydrogen technology partner. Our indigenously developed electrolyser systems are designed to deliver efficiency, reliability, and scalability. The fully indigenous alkaline bipolar electrolyser features India-developed bipolar stack technology, delivers hydrogen output at 30 bar pressure, ensures ultra-high purity of 99.99999%, and comes with integrated SCADA and AI-based automation for real-time optimization and predictive diagnostics. We are proud to support JSL’s clean energy roadmap and contribute meaningfully to India’s Green Hydrogen Mission. This partnership is not just about technology supply, but also about building a sustainable and competitive ecosystem for India’s energy transition.”

This collaboration marks a milestone for both companies. For JSL, it represents a decisive step in decarbonizing its stainless steel production, aligning with global ESG standards and India’s net-zero targets. For Greenzo, the project significantly strengthens its growing order book and underscores its role as a trusted partner to leading industrial groups in their clean energy transformation.

The order also comes at a time when India is scaling up investments in hydrogen infrastructure, with policy support and incentives driving industrial adoption. Electrolyser integration into energy-intensive sectors like steel, refining, and chemicals is expected to unlock large-scale demand in the coming decade, positioning early movers such as JSL and Greenzo as frontrunners in the global clean energy value chain.
