Charlotte, N.C., Dec 05 — Horizon, a provider of highly customized investment and technology solutions designed to fuel the growth of financial advisors, has announced that it is has entered into an agreement to acquire Anfield Capital Management, a California-based asset management firm with a long track record in fixed income investing and approximately $662 million in assets under management.

Anfield, founded in 2009, brings with it a range of services and solutions, including ETFs, mutual funds, and an OCIO practice designed around deep collaboration between Anfield and its clients, delivering not only investment management but full integration with the advisor’s practice, thought leadership, and much more.

The Anfield leadership team will be joining Horizon as part of the acquisition.

“This is one of those turning point days for us at Horizon,” said John Drahzal, President & Chief Executive Officer with Horizon. “We’re not only welcoming a team into our firm that is a seamless cultural match, we’re expanding the services we can provide to financial advisors and the challenges we can help them solve on behalf of their clients. Anfield’s fixed income acumen, product lineup, and OCIO offerings perfectly complement what we have been building over the last three decades.”

The Anfield announcement caps a year of significant growth for Horizon. In 2025, the firm refreshed its brand, launched a 12-fund ETF suite, and completed the acquisition of New York–based equity manager Centre Asset Management.

“Not only is Horizon expanding our capabilities into the fixed income space, but we’re also expanding our geographic footprint,” added Drahzal. “With Anfield, we’re eager to establish roots in California and offer a growing, bicoastal presence to our financial advisor clients.”

“It quickly became clear that John and the Horizon team share our culture—one built on respect, collaboration, and a deep commitment to delivering meaningful value to financial advisors,” said David Young, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Anfield Capital Management. “I could not be more excited about what we are all going to accomplish together.”

The consummation of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including fund shareholder approvals, with closing expected to occur in the first half of 2026.
