Jsw Steel’s Seed Program Earns Prestigious Recognition at Cop28 Transition Changemakers Event

(“JSW Steel” or the “Company”) is very happy to announce that the Company’s flagship decarbonization program – SEED (Sustainable Energy Environment and Decarbonization) has been honoured as one of the top global Energy Transition Changemakers in the category of “Heavy Emitting Sectors” at the prestigious COP28 Energy Transition Changemakers event. This accolade underscores JSW’s leadership in sustainable practices within the steel industry.

 Energy Transition Changemakers is a COP28 UAE Presidency initiative which aims to foster private sector collaboration in delivering innovative and scalable decarbonization projects globally and demonstrate solutions to help enable and accelerate the energy transition across 4 sectors viz Renewables, Renewable Integration & Clean Power, Energy Efficiency, Low-Carbon & Renewable Hydrogen and Heavy Emitting Sectors.

 The SEED initiative of JSW was recognised and is built on two key objectives:

  Driving Operational Decarbonization: By formulating and executing detailed action plans at the shop level, aligned with the goal of achieving best-in-class emissions globally within the BF-BOF route.

  Implementing Change Management: Ensuring on-the-ground change across various organizational levels, with a focus on taking ownership of emission metrics.

 The acknowledgment of the SEED program at the COP28 Energy Transition Changemakers event stands as a testament to our innovative approach to sustainability.
