The emerging memory brand, KLEVV, which is owned by Essen core, has launched two new sold state drives (SSDs) in India, the CRAS C920, and the C720.
For the uninitiated, a solid-state drive is a digital storage device that stores data on a persistent basis using integrated circuit assemblies. It typically employs flash memory and is ranked second in the hierarchy of computer storage.
The advantages of SSDs compared to electromechanical drives are that they are more resistant to physical shocks, have quicker access times, and less latency. They also run silently.
Although initially marketed to the military and niche industrial markets because of their prohibitive costs, SSDs have become mainstream as their price has fallen. and are now common in many laptops.
Many of the users of the computers deployed by the best Indian online casinos as listed here will undoubtedly use them in some form or other, especially as SSD technology continues to develop rapidly.
SSDs are particularly useful when travelling because compared to HDD (hard disk drives) they are smaller and lighter. This not only saves space, allowing other hardware to be included in a laptop, but, because they require less power, help extend a laptop’s battery life.
They have also had a significantly lower failure rate than HDDs, so even for those who already have an HDD, it is never a bad idea to back important data onto an SDD as well.
In terms of the two new products, both of which come with a matte black PCB, the CRAS CR920 uses PCI Express 4.0 *4 interface, 3D TLC NAND Flash memory. and a Phison E18-sries controller. It is available in two variants – 1TB and 2TB – which offer differing sequential read and write speeds, according to need.
NAND (Negative-And) memory chips are what houses SLC (single level cell), MLC (multi-level cell), or TLC (triple level cell) memory cells. All NAND memory contain s built-in error connecting codes which is designed to fix any errors as data is written, and read. It helps ensure that cells continue working properly and that the overall health of the SSD is maintained.
It is compatible with the latest Intel and AMB platforms, and ca help users deliver all of the performance enhancements offered by the latest chipsets and CPUs.
The CR C720 PCIe M.2 Gen4x4/3×4 is a slightly cheaper product which incorporates the latest update to the Phison E12S controller and 3D TLC NAND Flash. Four different combinations of this model are available, with memory capacity of either 256 GB, 512 GB, 1TB and 2 TB.
Both of the new models come with advance features which help users maximise system performance. Endurance is enhanced by the intelligent SLC caching algorithms, as well as the thermal throttling algorithm and the hardware LDPC ECC Engine.
Both the models offer five-year limited warranties, although as any experienced user will know, SSDs have a limited number of writes that they can perform over their lifetime, and tend to slow down as they begin to reach their full storage capacity.
In addition, SSDs which are based on NAND Flash will, if left for long periods without power, begin to slowly leak charge.
