Lemonn Launches SmartInvest to Simplify Algo Trading for Retail Traders

India,  Mar 12: Lemonn, the stock broking and investment platform, today announced the launch of SmartInvest, algorithmic investment strategy designed to make algo trading accessible to retail investors and traders.

Lemonn Launches SmartInvest to Simplify Algo Trading for Retail Traders

Algorithmic trading has traditionally remained a complex and niche product, largely limited to sophisticated traders who have the technical expertise to design, test, and deploy their own strategies. Retail investors and traders, despite growing interest, have had limited access to simplified, compliant, and ready-to-use algo solutions. This challenge exists even as India’s algorithmic trading market continues to expand rapidly. SmartInvest aims to bridge this gap.

“While interest in equity investing has grown significantly, execution remains a key challenge for most retail investors,” said Devam Sardana, Business Head, Lemonn.

“SmartInvest is built for investors who understand the value of discipline and structure but don’t want the pressure of constantly monitoring markets or making tactical decisions. The goal is to help investors invest with a process and defined algo strategies, not predictions.” he added.

SmartInvest offers access to pre-built strategies developed by Lemonn’s in-house and certified experts, where trade execution is automated and governed by predefined rules and risk registration.

The platform currently has an algorithmic strategy focused on NIFTY. The strategy has undergone extensive back testing and has received the necessary regulatory framework registration. Lemonn plans to introduce additional strategies over time, including offerings with lower minimum investment thresholds to expand access to systematic investing.

SmartInvest allows retail investors and traders to participate in an algo-driven strategy without requiring users to develop or code strategies themselves. To ensure execution quality and scalability, SmartInvest will initially be offered through a limited number of slots, with defined allocations per user.

SmartInvest is designed to complement existing investing approaches by promoting process-led execution and reducing impulsive decisions driven by short-term market volatility.
