In a striking fusion of Hollywood glamour and motorsport heritage, Mercedes-AMG has revealed the ultra-exclusive GT63 APXGP Edition to commemorate its role in the upcoming Formula 1 movie starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris. Unveiled at the 2025 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, the car embodies the bold identity of the fictional APXGP team featured in the film.
Limited to just 52 units globally, the GT63 APXGP Edition isn’t just a nod to cinema—it’s a high-performance machine built with race-inspired intent. Under the hood lies a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine delivering 577 horsepower, paired with Mercedes-AMG’s Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system. With motorsport-grade ceramic brakes, active roll stabilization, and rear-axle steering, this edition promises track-ready handling without compromising everyday drivability.
Visually, the car stands out with the AMG Aerodynamics package, featuring a fixed carbon-fibre rear wing, and the AMG Extended Night Package, which adds subtle yet assertive black chrome accents. The design draws clear inspiration from the APXGP team’s fictional livery in the film, bringing cinematic drama to real-world roads.
Inside, the cabin is equally bespoke. Black Nappa leather and suede-like microfiber upholstery are stitched together with Race Gold thread, while carbon-fibre trim with gold inlays adds a luxurious yet sporty touch. Illuminated door sills, “APXGP” branded floor mats, and a Burmester 15-speaker sound system emphasize exclusivity and immersive driving. The AMG Track Pace telemetry app ensures drivers can monitor performance with precision.
Mercedes-AMG’s involvement in the film goes beyond this collector’s edition. The German marque provided vehicles, technical insight, and on-track access for scenes filmed during actual Grand Prix weekends. The collaboration, led by producers Joseph Kosinski and Jerry Bruckheimer, will be supported by a global co-promotion campaign in the lead-up to the film’s release on June 27, 2025.
Each GT63 APXGP Edition will come with a numbered plaque and a custom AMG car cover, underscoring its status as a true collector’s piece. While pricing remains under wraps, its exclusivity and craftsmanship are sure to make it a coveted item among automotive and film enthusiasts alike.
Michael Schiebe, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, described the car as a “blending of AMG’s engineering passion with the cinematic thrill of Formula 1,” marking a rare collaboration where storytelling and speed meet at full throttle.
