Movius Appoints Former Uber Engineering Leader as CIO

FREMONT, Calif., July 29, 2025 — Movius, the leading global provider of secure, AI-powered, purpose-driven communications software, today announced the appointment of Ajay Thakur as its first-ever Chief Information Officer (CIO). In this role, Ajay will guide the evolution of Movius’ Secure Communications as a Service (SCaaS™) Platform and AI solutions.

Prior to Movius, Thakur was a founding member and Head of the Cognitive Computing team at Uber. He was instrumental in building Uber’s initial public cloud architecture for omni-channel conversational platforms, a system that generated significant annual cost savings and incremental revenue. Thakur also spearheaded the company’s generative AI Center of Excellence, leading the deployment of the first four large language model (LLM) solutions into production and contributing to significant growth in annualized savings. Prior to Uber, he served in engineering roles at Cisco, Drivewyze, and Trimble Navigation.
