9th March 2023: Marking International Women’s Day, under the theme, “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality”, New Town Business Club celebrates the remarkable achievements of women and girls in our societies by organizing SwayamSiddha- A special felicitation for Women Achievers on this International Women’s Day. The chief guests for the event were Shri Debashis Sen, Managing Director, Hidco and Chairman NKDA, Smt Urmila Sen, Professor and President New Town Sarbojanin, Colonel Indrajit Roy, GM NTBC along with Rupa Roy.
Recognizing the tremendous efforts made by women and girls in shaping a more equal world New Town Business club felicitates a few women achievers from different sectors. The awardees were Sudeshna Banerjee – heading a community newspaper brought out by the city’s leading English daily for the last 17 years, Shalini Srivastava – leading influencer, and lifestyle blogger, Asmita Kar – winner of Saragamapa 2023, Mallika Sarkar – co-founder of Art Artelier, Dr. Sushmita Roy Chowdhury – expert pulmonologist with an experience of nearly a quarter century as a physician, Sakshi Shekhar – Owner and founder of the Magique Platter an International Pageant Groomer, Dr. Swati Nandi Chakraborty – her interest focus on Assessment of Health Risk due to Bioaccumulation of Heavy metal in East Kolkata Wetland Ecosystem, Moupiya Nandy – Deputy Editor at Zee 24 Ghanta, Vama Gaur – Alumnus of Indian Naval Academy and retired from Indian Coast Guard’s Aviation Cadre after 8 years of service, Paromita Ghosh – Director of Candid Communication and Akansha Pandey – founder of the popular acclaimed brands – Club de golf & German Café & Bistro.
