Gurugram: Our country is grappling with a serious health crisis posed by COVID-19. In India, all states are sanitizing contaminated regions to forestall the spread of the infection. The transmission of the infection is fast, the administrations with the help of private set-up are trying to, as quickly as they can with various initiatives, put measures to minimize the impact.
This is an example of Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) recognizing the need to curtail the spread of the Coronavirus. PI Foundation, the CSR arm of PI Industries Ltd. along with DLF Foundation joined hands to support local administration of Haryana in sanitization of large areas of Gurugram city at a brisk pace. Under the collaboration, PI Foundation is providing services of PI Industries’ hi-tech Japanese spray machines equipped with the ability to disinfect and sanitize large areas up to 15,000 sq. meters an hour by one machine for public places. The prescribed disinfectant solution is provided by the local administration. DLF Foundation supported PI in the implementation of this initiative.
Today, the disinfection drive was launched from Municipal Corporation of Gurugram 25, Jharsa Rd, Opp. Civil Hospital, Roshan Pura, Gurugram, The plan is to quickly mobilize three machines brought in by PI from different parts of Haryana and Punjab to cover large areas of Gurugram. The 9 containment areas, as under, have been identified as the priority areas for disinfectant drive.

Madhu Azad, Mayor Gurugram and Vinay Pratap Singh, IAS, Commissioner Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) launched the drive. Sh. Vinay Pratap Singh, Commissioner ensured that these spray vehicles are deployed immediately to disinfect the high risk zones in Gurugram including the large number of slums inhabited by migrant workers and daily wagers.

PI remains committed to providing help to the most vulnerable section of our society impacted by this pandemic and facing significant disruption to their livelihoods.
DLF Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the DLF group, has been at the forefront providing over 65000 meals to the slum and migrants in Gurugram and the adjoining villages. It has served over 6.5 lakh cooked meals and dry rations for 25 lakh meals so far. It continues to serve over 65000 meals every day. In addition it has provided over 50000 face masks, 3 lakh gloves sanitizer to the district administration and the municipal corporation in Gurugram.
