March 13, 2025: Tokyo, Japan/Bengaluru, India – Qlik®, a global leader in data integration, data quality, analytics, and artificial intelligence, today announced that SAPPORO Holdings, a global leader in the alcoholic beverage industry, has announced the deployment of Qlik as part of its newly redesigned and sustainable data integration platform. Qlik will enable real-time data to accelerate trusted decision-making and address business challenges. Earlier this year, SAPPORO announced the operation of the new platform which started fully on January 27, 2025.
SAPPORO is developing a data integration platform to analyze the business environment and optimize decision-making. Prior to the introduction of Qlik, the high cost of data integration was a significant bottleneck. Integrating each system and table required detailed design, development, and testing from external vendors, leading to substantial time and cost investments. Additionally, to minimize disruption to mission-critical operations, data updates were restricted to a once-daily night batch process. As a result, there were instances where the data failed to meet the quality standards required for real-time operations and analysis.
Qlik, which has been implemented in SAPPORO’s data platform, resolved these issues by enabling the organisation to keep data up-to-date and develop data linkage modules internally. Qlik‘s Change Data Capture allows for continuous synchronization and updates of data without placing heavy loads on the mission-critical system even during peak operations. SAPPORO will roll out the integrated data platform across its sales, logistics, and financial departments in June 2025, with future plans to extend data democratization throughout the company.
“We believe that Qlik will be of great help in maximising the benefits and profits of using data at SAPPORO,” said Shuichi Umehara, Director of DX Planning Department, DX Planning Department, DX・IT Management Division, SAPPORO Holdings. “Thanks to the low-code development and user-friendly UI of Qlik Cloud, we will be able to quickly build in-house integration with new data sources, reducing future costs for building data integration by around 80% and enabling plans which reduce development time by more than 75%. This has enabled us to solve issues relating to the requirements for utilising data in business departments at an early stage, and has created a system infrastructure that will enable us to sustainably contribute to profits through such activities. The wealth of data connectors is a particularly attractive factor that will lead to the expansion of SAPPORO’s data utilisation domain, and we look forward to further connectivity expansion in the future.”
“The quality of data—its reliability, freshness, and diversity—is crucial for making informed business decisions,” said Maurizio Garavello, Senior Vice President of Asia Pacific and Japan at Qlik. “We’re proud to support SAPPORO in adopting Qlik to integrate real-time data from their mission-critical systems. We’re excited to help them scale the platform across the organisation and fully leverage the value of their data.”
