Mumbai, 11th November 2025: A potential accident was averted in Vile Parle (East) recently, thanks to the swift and responsible action of security guard Shri Ram Bahor at Mahavir CHSL on V. S. Khandekar Road.
A fire had broken out in a nearby garbage area following the bursting of firecrackers, with flames dangerously close to Mahanagar Gas Limited’s live gas junction box. Acting promptly, Ram Bahor extinguished the fire and isolated both valves of the junction box, preventing what could have been a major incident.
MGL commended Shri Ram Bahor for his alertness and prompt & responsible action that ensured the safety of residents and safeguarded vital gas infrastructure.
Encouraging such vigilance, Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) urges citizens to support ‘MGL Sahayogi’, which encourages them to report threats and excavations near gas assets and underground pipelines, to help prevent damage and ensure public safety.
