Mumbai, July 16, 2025: Siemens Limited and Tata STRIVE’s collaborative Dual VET (Vocational Education and Training) project has reached a significant milestone, impacting over 120,000 beneficiaries across 279 Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the past eight years. The initiative aims to address the crucial gap between industry requirements and the training provided at ITIs.
Sunil Mathur, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Siemens Limited, said, “At Siemens, our commitment to corporate social responsibility is deeply rooted in our mission to drive sustainable progress and we have identified three focus areas – education, social and environment. Our initiatives not only aim to reduce our environmental footprint but also empower communities through education and innovation. The Company’s CSR projects are long-term in nature and designed to create sustainable value for society, which is evident in the impact created so far.”
Ramadorai, Chairman of the Advisory Board at Tata STRIVE, said “ITIs are a vital pillar of India’s skilling ecosystem and central to our national missions such as Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. Strengthening ITIs has been a core priority in our efforts to create meaningful pathways from training to employment. The collaboration between Siemens and Tata STRIVE is a great example of what sustained partnership can achieve. This model is not only scalable, but also absolutely a necessity and a powerful demonstration of how industry participation can transform vocational training in the country.”
Ameya Vanjari, Chief Operating Officer, Tata STRIVE, further added, “This is strengthening the ITI ecosystem by bringing industry closer to trainees. We are proud and delighted that this joint initiative has made a positive difference to 120,000 young trainees so far. By driving systematic changes within ITIs, we aim to ensure that this impact is not just momentary but sustained and scaled for years to come.”
Dual VET impacts ITI training with a two-pronged approach. On one hand, the ITI instructors are equipped to train ITI trainees with superior pedagogy that promotes inquiry-based and project-based learning. On the other hand, local industry is also engaged to support ITI Trainees and become a partner in their journey by providing adequate practical industry training, viz. in-plant training.
Through this collaboration, Siemens Limited and Tata STRIVE reaffirm their commitment to strengthen vocational education ecosystem in India, to build a sustainable pipeline of skills and jobs from ITI to industry while making the trainees industry ready.
