Spices and Tradition

25th March, 2025 Bengaluru- Yauatcha Bengaluru, known for its authentic take on Cantonese cuisine, is introducing a special menu that seamlessly blends South Indian flavours with Chinese culinary techniques in honour of Ugadi. This thoughtfully curated menu showcases the vibrant spices, fresh ingredients, and time-honoured cooking methods of South India, reimagined in Yauatcha’s signature style and will be available from the 28th of March until the 30th of April.

With this menu, Yauatcha presents an innovative take on regional influences, using a masterful interplay of textures and tastes. From delicate dumplings to bold, spice-laden dishes, each creation highlights the versatility of South Indian ingredients in harmony with Cantonese traditions.

Guests can savour dishes like the Yam bean millet dumpling, inspired by the hearty South Indian staple, Ragi Mudde, where a fragrant, curry-infused yam bean filling is encased in a delicate millet dough. The Asparagus and mooli with Chinese parsley pays homage to the robust flavours of Mullangi Sambar, reinterpreted in a light yet flavourful stir-fry.

Seafood lovers can indulge in the Crab and prawn dumpling, where raw garlic-infused oil enhances the natural sweetness of the shellfish, while the Pork ribs with togarashi introduce an unexpected twist with a finely ground curry leaf spice blend that deepens the flavour profile. For those seeking a balance of citrus and crisp textures, the Crispy chicken in orange lemon sauce brings together the sweet-sour vibrancy of fresh orange and zesty lemon with golden-fried chicken.

The experience is further elevated with refreshing Summer Coolers, including the Mango chilli, a bright, tropical mix of fresh mango, lime, and a subtle kick of jalapeño vinegar, and the South summer, a revitalising combination of lemon, mint, coriander, and aromatic curry leaf infused into a fizzy, citrusy blend.

With this special menu, Yauatcha embraces the bold and diverse flavours of South India, offering a one-of-a-kind culinary experience that bridges cultures and traditions in an unexpected yet delightful way.

The limited-edition menu will be available at Yauatcha Bengaluru from the 28th of March to the 30th of April. Whether it’s a festive gathering or an intimate meal, Yauatcha’s offerings promise to make your experience unforgettable.
