The Original Louisiana Brand Hot Sauce Teams Up With The Jalen Hurts Foundation To Help Keep Philadelphia Schools Cool

ROME, Ga., September 05, 2025 — The Original Louisiana Brand Hot Sauce™ has teamed up with The Jalen Hurts Foundation to support the Keep It Cool Initiative and the TDs for ACs campaign to help provide air conditioning to Philadelphia schools in need.

The Original Louisiana Hot Sauce donated $100,000 in recognition of The Jalen Hurts Foundation’s TDs for ACs campaign during the 2024-2025 football season and matched the foundation’s $5,000 donation for each of the three touchdowns Jalen Hurts scored while winning the championship game. The foundation is using the $115,000 contribution from The Original Louisiana Hot Sauce to upgrade and provide air conditioning units to Philadelphia schools, helping address the critical need to improve learning environments for students.

“We started this work as a foundation because no child should have their education cut short by the heat,” said Jalen Hurts, founder of The Jalen Hurts Foundation. “To see the progress already made is humbling, and it’s only possible because the community stepped up with us. Having partners like Louisiana Hot Sauce join in makes the impact even stronger. At the end of the day, it’s about building communities where kids have the same basic resources as anyone else — and we’re proud to keep pushing that forward to Keep It Cool.”

Inadequate air conditioning in schools can lead to significant negative educational impacts among students and has caused many Philadelphia schools to have to dismiss students early due to extreme heat during the warmer months.

The Original Louisiana Hot Sauce is continuing its partnership with The Jalen Hurts Foundation and the Keep It Cool Initiative throughout the 2025-2026 season. The hot sauce brand has pledged $2,500 for every touchdown scored by Jalen Hurts during the season, up to an additional $100,000.

“Jalen Hurts and The Original Louisiana Hot Sauce have been fans of each other for years, and we previously collaborated on Jalen Hurts signature hot sauce bottles,” said Dionne Encarnacion, The Original Louisiana Hot Sauce Brand Manager. “We are proud to celebrate his success and support his foundation’s Keep It Cool Initiative and all the good he is doing in the community. Keeping Philadelphia students cool is officially Louisiana hot!”

As part of the Keep It Cool Initiative, The Jalen Hurts Foundation donated 300 air conditioning units to The School District of Philadelphia to be installed in 10 schools, keeping over 5,000 students cool and in school. Together, more than $525,000 has already gone toward creating safer, cooler classrooms — proof of what’s possible when a community comes together for its kids.
