V-Guard Soft Launches State-of-the-Art Innovation Campus in Kochi, Strengthening Kerala’s Electronics Ecosystem

Kochi, Feb 11: V-Guard Industries Ltd., one of India’s leading electrical and electronics brands, has soft launched the first phase of its state-of-the-art Innovation Campus at the KINFRA Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) Park in Kakkanad.

The Innovation Campus was formally inaugurated by P. Rajeeve, Minister for Industries, Law, and Coir, in the presence of Thrikkakara MLA Uma Thomas. Also present at the ceremony were V-Guard Founder Kochouseph Chittilappilly; Sheela Kochouseph; Managing Director Mithun K. Chittilappilly; Director & COO Ramachandran V.; Dr. Reenaa Mithun Chittilappilly, Director, V-Guard Foundation; Antony Sebastian, Executive Director, V-Guard Industries Ltd.; and Santhosh Koshy Thomas, Managing Director, Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA).

Boost to Industrial Growth and Innovation

The new Innovation Campus, focused on research and advanced technologies, is expected to provide a significant boost to Kerala’s industrial growth. Speaking at the inauguration, Minister P. Rajeeve noted that the campus, equipped with modern laboratories and sustainable manufacturing practices, would drive transformation in the electronics sector and generate new employment opportunities. He added that such ventures strengthen Kerala’s business-friendly environment and attract further investments to the state.

A Milestone in V-Guard’s Growth Journey

The launch marks a major milestone for V-Guard, which began as a small manufacturing unit in 1977 and has grown into a nationally trusted brand with a turnover of ₹5,500 crore as it enters its 49th year.

Built with an investment of over ₹120 crore, the first phase of the campus spans 1,10,338 square feet across three acres. The facility houses advanced Electronics R&D labs, an IoT lab, a Reliability lab, a Product Design Studio, a Learning Centre, and Consumer Insight and Behavioural Research facilities.

Commenting on the occasion, Mithun K. Chittilappilly, Managing Director, V-Guard Industries Ltd., said:

Sustainability at the Core

Constructed in compliance with the Indian Green Building Council’s (IGBC) Gold Rating standards, the campus integrates sustainability and employee well-being into its design. Architectural elements such as terracotta baguettes enhance the building’s aesthetics while regulating light and heat within the facility.

The campus also features a 60 kWp rooftop solar plant, rainwater harvesting systems, and EV charging points, reinforcing V-Guard’s commitment to sustainable development.

In addition to research and quality testing laboratories, the campus includes collaborative workspaces and a dedicated Customer Experience Centre, positioning it as a comprehensive hub for innovation, design, and consumer-centric development.

With this launch, V-Guard strengthens its focus on research-driven growth while contributing to Kerala’s emergence as a key electronics and innovation hub in India.
