In a groundbreaking initiative to prioritize women’s mental well-being, VIRGIO and Siddhesh Lokare have launched a Mental Health Ambulance, providing free therapy sessions for women across Mumbai. This initiative was born out of growing concerns and the urgent need to make mental health support more accessible for women. In response, they took action in a creative and impactful way, ensuring women could seek professional help in a safe and supportive environment.
The Mental Health Ambulance created a secure and private environment for women to receive professional therapy. Stationed across key locations in Mumbai, it offered women a dedicated space to speak confidently with a therapist. Simran, a certified therapist, was present inside the ambulance, providing free one-on-one therapy sessions and helping women navigate their struggles.
“VIRGIO and Siddhesh Lokare started the Mental Health Ambulance on the occasion of Women’s Day. After receiving hundreds of requests and vulnerable messages, VIRGIO and Siddhesh Lokare decided to provide professional support most creatively.” Said Siddhesh, Beyond the physical ambulance, the initiative also ensured that women across Mumbai can access support beyond Women’s Day.
Siddhesh Lokare emphasised the initiative’s significance stating, “There are so many women around us, from different walks of life, struggling in silence. Through this initiative, we wanted to remind them that their mental well-being matters and that they don’t have to go through it alone.”
Amar Nagaram, Co-Founder & CEO of VIRGIO, shared his thoughts on the initiative: “At VIRGIO, we believe in going beyond fashion to create a lasting impact on communities. Women’s mental health is often overlooked, and through this initiative, we want to encourage women to prioritize their mental well-being and seek help without hesitation. We hope this effort inspires more individuals to step forward, support each other, and create a culture where mental wellness is a shared priority.”
This initiative provided immediate relief and aimed to normalise conversations around mental health. By offering free therapy sessions, VIRGIO and Siddhesh Lokare are encouraging more women to seek help without fear or stigma.
