Amity University Haryana Celebrates Sangathan 2025: A Grand Confluence of Sportsmanship, Unity, and Inspiration

October 10, 2025: Amity University Haryana (AUH) proudly hosted Sangathan 2025, the month-long mega sports event that culminated in the grand celebration of Founder’s Day, marking the birth anniversary of Amity’s visionary Founder President, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan. The annual event is a defining tradition across Amity institutions, symbolizing unity, discipline, and the spirit of sportsmanship.

This year’s edition commenced on 5th September 2025, with a spectacular opening ceremony that set the tone for a series of 45 competitive sporting events. The competitions brought together students, faculty, and staff from various departments, celebrating camaraderie, teamwork, and physical excellence. Sangathan, year after year, stands as a testament to Amity University’s commitment to holistic education, integrating academic rigor with physical fitness and character development.

The occasion holds special significance as the Amity fraternity comes together to honor the birthday of the Hon’ble Founder President Sir, whose visionary leadership, enduring values, and dedication to knowledge creation continue to inspire millions across Amity’s global campuses.

Over 400 medals were awarded to students, faculty, and staff, fostering a spirit of pride and achievement. The closing ceremony witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of over 1,000 participants, including students, faculty, and administrative staff. The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr) P.B. Sharma; Hon’ble Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr) Vikas Madhukar; Squadron Leader S.K. Singh, Director (Administration) and Chairman, Sangathan Committee; Dr. Ravi Manuja, Registrar; Major General J.S. Dhull, Dean of Students’ Welfare and Co-Chair, Sangathan; Prof (Dr) Vijay K. Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations and Co-Chair, Sangathan, Prof. (Dr) Sanjna Vij, Deputy Dean of Students’ Welfare and Sangathan Core Committee Member, Cmde Rajiv Choudhry, Addl Director Hostels and Sangathan Core Committee Member along with the Deans, Directors, faculty members, staff and vibrant student community of AUH.

A Ceremony of Unity and Spirit

The closing day ceremony opened with a riveting March Past, led by Amity students under the guidance of Cdr. N.K. Dahiya and other coordinators, displaying impeccable discipline and pride. The lighting of the Sangathan Mashal (Torch), conducted simultaneously across all Amity campuses worldwide, marked the symbolic culmination of the event. The Sangathan flame, lit by the esteemed dignitaries during the closing ceremony, stood as a glowing emblem of perseverance, unity, and indomitable spirit that defines the Amity fraternity.

Guest of Honour Inspires the Youth

The Guest of Honour, Mr. Balwan Singh, Former National Kabaddi Player and International Coach, and a distinguished recipient of the Dronacharya, Bheem, Swabhiman, and Ati Vishisht Jyoti Awards, graced the occasion with his inspiring presence. With 15 National Gold Medals to his name and a legacy of coaching multiple Arjuna Awardees, Mr. Singh exemplifies dedication, discipline, and leadership in Indian sports.

In his address, Mr. Singh expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Founder President, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, acknowledging him as a source of deep inspiration. He emphasized the transformative power of discipline, urging students to make the most of their years at Amity and to channel their potential toward nation-building. “I have great expectations from the youth of this country. Students must take it upon themselves to make India a great nation and draw inspiration from its leaders,” he said.

Mr. Singh lauded Amity University for its commitment to promoting sports and sportsmanship as essential components of holistic education. He concluded his speech with the spirited slogan, “Jai Hind, Jai Bharat, Jai Amity.”

Leadership Reflections: Vision, Values, and Viksit Bharat

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr) P.B. Sharma, in his address, paid heartfelt tribute to the enduring legacy of Sangathan and extended deep appreciation to the students, faculty, and staff for their dedication and teamwork throughout the month-long celebration. Prof Sharma highlighted that Sangathan not only nurtures physical excellence but also reinforces unity, discipline, and cultural ethos, the foundations of a progressive and enlightened society.
Prof Sharma also acknowledged the continued support and visionary guidance of Hon’ble Chancellor, Dr. Aseem Chauhan, and reaffirmed Amity’s mission to create leaders who are not only intellectually empowered but also morally anchored. Concluding his inspiring address, he urged everyone to work collectively toward the vision of a Viksit Bharat and ended with an enthusiastic chant of “Jai Hind, Jai Amity.”

Hon’ble Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Vikas Madhukar, in his address, commended the tremendous participation and enthusiasm witnessed throughout Sangathan 2025. He highlighted the special significance of this year’s celebration, marking 15 years of excellence at Amity University Haryana. Dr. Madhukar emphasized that Sangathan embodies the true essence of collective strength, unity, leadership, and achievement across all Amity campuses.

“Sangathan truly symbolizes the strength of students, unity within the organization, leadership, and achievement,” he remarked. He further encouraged students to carry the spirit of sportsmanship beyond the field, applying it in professional and personal spheres as a guiding life principle.

Cultural Brilliance and Sporting Glory

The event was further enlivened by a captivating Dog Show by the Amity Dog Academy and vibrant cultural performances showcasing the rich traditions of Kerala, Haryana, Punjab and other states, celebrating India’s diversity and unity. On the field, the competitions were equally electrifying, with track events such as the 100M Boys and Girls, 4x100M Relay and 100M AIMC Boys’ races drawing roaring cheers from the audience. The Tug of War and other field events added excitement, symbolizing teamwork and endurance.
Participation from both students and faculty members reflected the true spirit of inclusivity, reinforcing Amity’s belief that sports transcend hierarchy and unify everyone under one flag, the flag of Sangathan.

Celebrating Excellence: Medal Tally and Recognition

The Points and Medal Tally crowned Club C (Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity Institute of Information Technology, and Amity Institute of Design & Technology) as the overall champions with an impressive 148 points, securing 28 gold and 10 silver medals. Club B (Amity Law School) followed with 90 points, while Club A (Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity School of Applied Sciences, and Amity School of Fashion Technology) achieved 41 points, marking strong performances across categories. The university honored the Best March Past Contingent, Best Male and Female Athletes, the Overall Runners-Up Team, and the Overall Winner Team, celebrating excellence, resilience and teamwork.

Squadron Leader S.K. Singh, Chairman of the Sangathan Committee, extended a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, appreciating the tireless efforts of participants, faculty, coordinators, and organizing committees for making Sangathan 2025 a resounding success.

The ceremony concluded with the closing remarks by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr) P.B. Sharma, who officially declared the sports meet closed. The event concluded with the lowering of the University flag, followed by the National Anthem, marking the end of a grand celebration that blended spirit, unity, and inspiration.
