Feb 18: David Kalisz joined Excelia Business School as Director of the Master in Management (in French: Programme Grande Ecole) and the MSc in Business Management. He previously held the position of Director of Graduate Studies and Associate Professor at Paris School of Business. As a researcher-lecturer in management and an expert in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), he will contribute his expertise to developing pedagogical initiatives combining strategy, technology, and transformation.

As Director of Excelia Business School’s two programmes, effective from 2nd February, David Kalisz’s role will be to coordinate and develop the school’s Master in Management and Master of Science in line with the school’s strategic vision of ‘Business Education for our futureS’. He will apply his experience in higher education, his technological expertise and his international outlook to the development of pedagogy and the internationalisation of the Business School. He will assist in the development of graduate programmes across all Excelia campuses (La Rochelle, Tours, Orleans, Paris).
His strategy for postgraduate studies will focus on the following:
- Continuing Excelia Business School’s drive for excellence, enabling it to strengthen its position on the international stage as one of France’s leading business schools
- Positioning the school, at both national and international level, as an innovative and influential leader for its pedagogical model, which focusses on the ecological and social transition, as well as the digital and geopolitical transformations facing today’s managers
- Further developing the Business School by rolling out the Master in Management in Paris, promoting the undergraduate years of the programme on all campuses, and aligning the MSc offer not only with the needs of the regions in which the school has a presence but also internationally
On an operational level, David Kalisz’s responsibilities include:
- making a significant contribution to accreditations and quality labels (Visa and Grade de Master, EQUIS, AACSB, AMBA, HCERES, etc.), in parallel with the dedicated department, by demonstrating the programmes’ compliance with environmental and social impact indicators
- Overseeing programme quality by rolling out performance indicators across all campuses and rethinking international mobility to reflect Excelia’s ecological transition and internationalisation objectives
- Implementing the necessary changes to ensure pedagogy takes into account the emergence of AI and the integration of adaptive skills into programmes
Furthermore, David Kalisz will actively contribute to the promotion and development of programmes and will oversee relations with learners, paying particular attention to student satisfaction indicators.
David Kalisz also joins Excelia Business School as Associate Professor in the Strategy Academic Department
His lessons will cover topics such as Megatrends and Understanding the Future, as well as the long-term impact of innovation on industries, organisations, and society.His research focusses on Future Studies, Strategic Foresight and Scenario Planning, with a particular interest in supporting organisations facing uncertainty, complex situations, and long-term transformations.David Kalisz is also a guest editor for several international peer-reviewed academic journals, including Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and Information Technology & People.
