Kolkata, April 17, 2025: Dr. Bhaskar Gupta a distinguished academician has joined JIS University as Vice Chancellor.
A distinguished academician and researcher, Dr. Gupta brings with him over four decades of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership.
Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, a distinguished academician from Kolkata and an alumnus of Jadavpur University, brings with him decades of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. He has held several key positions at Jadavpur University, including Vice Chancellor, Head of the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, and Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology.
An expert in advanced antenna systems and RF technologies, Dr. Gupta has over 350 publications, three books, and numerous government-funded research projects to his credit. He has guided 36 Ph.D. scholars and continues to mentor future researchers.
A recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Institution of Engineers (India), he is a Fellow of multiple professional bodies and has served on prestigious academic and government panels, including as Chairman of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board and Independent Director at RailTel and DFCCIL.
