Navi Mumbai, 28 August 2025: The ITM Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Navi Mumbai, recently hosted two prestigious events: the Inauguration Ceremony for the new academic year and the Convocation Ceremony for its graduating students. Both events were marked by the presence of celebrated professionals from the hospitality industry and distinguished academic leaders, reinforcing ITM-IHM’s position as a premier institution for hospitality education in India.
The Inauguration Ceremony welcomed the new batch of students with insights and inspiration from leading hospitality experts. Among the distinguished guests were Ms. Isha Thapa, Senior Manager – Learning and Development at Hotel Trident, Bandra Kurla Complex, and Ms. Hanshika Shetty, Assistant Human Resource Manager at The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai. The event also featured celebrated culinary leaders, Chef Raghu Deora, Executive Chef at The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, and Chef Arun Mathur, Executive Chef at Hotel Trident, Bandra Kurla. These eminent professionals shared their experiences and encouraged students to embrace excellence, adaptability, and continuous learning as they embark on their hospitality careers.
The Convocation Ceremony was a moment of pride and celebration for the graduating batch, commemorating their achievements and academic journey. The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. Theresa Cronin, Director of International at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, UK. In her keynote address, Dr. Cronin emphasized the value of global education, cross-cultural exposure, and the importance of innovation in the evolving hospitality landscape.
Also present as Guests of Honour were Mr. Suhash Bose, General Manager of Vivanta Navi Mumbai, Turbhe, and Chef Aungshuman Chakraborty, Executive Chef at The Leela Mumbai. Their presence lent further prestige to the ceremony, as they congratulated the graduates and offered valuable perspectives on industry expectations and global hospitality trends.
