JD School of Design and HIDE Expo Goa 2024 Celebrate a Successful Partnership and Launch of IGBC Student Chapter; Highlighted Sustainable Design

Bengaluru, 30th September 2024: HIDE Expo Goa 2024 concluded on a high note, bringing together innovative minds from the hospitality design industry and aspiring designers from across the country. Hosted at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Bambolim, from September 27th to 29th, 2024, the event once again served as a creative hub for design professionals and students. JD School of Design, powered by JD Institute of Fashion Technology, proudly continued its collaboration with the Hospitality Interior and Design Expo (HIDE Expo Goa) as the Knowledge Partner for the third consecutive year.

The three-day expo provided a platform for students to engage in numerous creative and educational activities that honed their design skills while offering them invaluable exposure to industry experts. As a highlight of the event, JD School of Design also announced the launch of the IGBC Student Chapter in association with the Indian Green Building Council, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability in design education.

The expo hosted an enlightening panel discussion featuring prominent voices from the design, architecture, and sustainability sectors. The panelists included Dr. Aniruddha Pawar, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Planning & Design at Goa University, who spoke on Green Buildings and Climate-Responsive Design; Ar. Amit Parashar, Principal Architect at Design Workshop Goa, who shared insights on Environment & Design; Mr. KulaSekhar Kantipudi, Real Estate Developer and IGBC Goa Co-chair, who provided expertise on Sustainable Real Estate Projects in Goa; and Ms. Akshatra Fernandes, Assistant Professor of Botany at Goa University, who discussed Vertical Gardens and Nature in Design.

This initiative is set to shape the future of eco-conscious design education in Goa, offering students hands-on experience in sustainable design practices, energy-efficient solutions, and the use of eco-friendly materials. The launch signals a significant milestone in equipping the next generation of designers with the knowledge and skills to meet the growing demand for sustainability in the industry.

One of the standout moments of the expo was the grand finale of Model Hunt 2024, where young models showcased their talent, confidence, and potential. Sania Gesawat was crowned Ms. HIDE 2024, while Kaadeen Kris Khatib Sharma took home the title of Mr. HIDE 2024. The event provided an exciting platform for emerging models to gain recognition and make their mark in the industry.

The event proved to be a resounding success, offering a unique blend of educational initiatives and creative inspiration.
