Bloodlines and Bullets: Meet the Ruska Roma in Ballerina, Hitting Cinemas June 13

20th May 2025: Directed by Len Wiseman, Ballerina introduces audiences to Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas), a lethally trained assassin whose mission is deeply personal — a relentless pursuit of vengeance against those who tore her family apart. Set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4, this new entry expands the franchise’s mythos while delivering its signature blend of high-octane action, immersive world-building, and jaw-dropping stunts.

For Ana de Armas, stepping into the role of Eve meant embracing a character forged by pain, precision, and purpose. While her journey unfolds in the same shadowy world that made John Wick a global phenomenon, Ballerina carves its own path — one where the stakes are personal, the lines between grief and justice blur, and the cost of vengeance is paid in full.

But what forged Ballerina in the shadows?

As per the John Wick cinematic universe, the Ruska Roma is a criminal organization that John Wick is associated with. The Ballerina has been trained within the Ruska Roma’s traditions to seek revenge for her father’s death. This sect is known for its assassin training and its complex relationship with The High Table, a governing authority of the criminal underworld. What cascading events led to Eve aka The Ballerina to take such drastic steps.

“It’s just bigger than her and she can’t control it,” de Armas says of Eve’s unshakable need for revenge. “One of the things I like the most is that [she’s] opposite to John: he wants to get out of the Ruska Roma, and she wants in.” That distinction was exactly what drew both de Armas and director Len Wiseman to the project.

PVRINOX Pictures continues its strong commitment to Indian audiences, rolling out Ballerina with an extensive theatrical release across multiple languages like English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Unlike the larger-than-life superheroes that dominate, Eve bleeds. She fights back. She transforms.
